S- Snape

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Harry Potter, #7) S- Snape. I love Severus Snape from the Harry Potter books. Whenever I need a good cry or to just believe in the goodness of people I watch Snape's final scene in the Harry Potter movies or read the scene in the books. He is such a complex character but he is also motivated by love, friendship, and loyalty.  I think he is truly one of the bravest characters in the books.

Do you have a favorite bad guy character who turned out to surprise you?

Hmm, I can't think of one off the top of my head, but I generally root for bad guys, overall. Unless they're really lame like Damon on Vampire Diaries.

I was not surprised about Snape. I figured if Dumbledore was the great guy we believed, and I did believe in his goodness, then Snape could not be on the dark side. He is complex. He is harsh, but he was fighting for good.

The good bad guy I like is the Phantom of the Opera.

Great "S" post - I'm a Snape fan too.
I'd have to put my thinking cap on and really dig deep to find my "favourite bad guy" - but Snape's in the bunch.

I'm with Mary...I believed in Dumbledore, so I believed in Snape.

I never have liked Phantom in Phantom of the Opera though...the idea of him watching a girl grow up and then falling in love/obsession with her gives me the creeps.

I think I'm always (secretly)interested in the bad guys. I mean they were babies once too, right? Well maybe not.

Although he didn't start that way, I think Snape might be one of my all time favorite characters PERIOD

He's so dynamic. Truly conflicted. Basically, a real person.

If we're talking bad guys/gals I truly abhor: Dolores Umbridge. That woman curls my toes just thinking about her.
